SUPPLEMENT 101 | L-Citrulline

SUPPLEMENT 101 | L-Citrulline

What is L-Citrulline?

L-citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that the body converts to Arginine and subsequently to Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide causes vasodilation which is the widening and relaxing of blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and increases oxygen within the blood.

How can this assist me in the Gym?

This process known as "Vasodialiation" comes with a number of general health and cardiac benefits... However whilst this is a plus to bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts alike, L-citrulline is most commonly used in a pre-workout format to aid in obtaining a superior pump, increase muscle volume, enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to working muscles, support recovery and improve overall physical performance within the gym.

How much should I take?

As it stands the minimum effective dose for L-Citrulline stands at 3,000mg per day. Further studies have shown that the law of diminishing returns kicks in at 10,000mg of L-Citrulline per day.

Our Pre Workout contains 7,000mg of L-Citrulline, in excess of current industry standards. We believe this dose ensures maximal benefits whilst avoiding the potential of an upset stomach (which doses in excess of 10,000mg have shown to do in some individuals).

When should I take it?

As discussed above, L-Citrulline's biggest benefit revolves around its ability to increase nitric oxide levels in the blood, in turn providing skin splitting pumps, this can be achieved by consuming L-Citrulline 10-15 minutes piror to your workout.
